LHP Andrew Werner had a solid start for Sacramento, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits while striking out 7 over 7 innings of work, but he still ended up taking his 14th loss on Saturday. First baseman Anthony Aliotti singled and doubled, while catcher Ryan Ortiz doubled and scored a run, and designated hitter Jemile Weeks singled in the only run of the game for the River Cats.

Starter Drew Carpenter turned in an impressive outing for the RockHounds, allowing just 2 hits over 6 scoreless innings to earn his 4th win on Saturday. Outfielder Josh Whitaker collected a pair of doubles, while Conner Crumbliss singled, walked, homered and scored twice, third baseman Jefry Marte singled, doubled and drove in a run, and outfielder Chad Oberacker drove in a pair for the RockHounds.

RHP Ryan Doolittle, returning from Tommy John surgery, had a solid outing his first time out for Stockton, allowing just 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 3 over 3 1/3 innings of work, but he still ended up taking the loss on Saturday. The Ports managed just 3 hits in the game, one apiece from outfielder Myrio Richard, second baseman Antonio Lamas and catcher Bruce Maxwell.

Starter Derek De Young allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 6 innings to pick up his 7th win on Saturday, while third baseman Renato Nunez made his organization-leading 36th and 37th errors in the game.

Starter Alex Nolasco allowed 4 runs in just 2 innings of work, while RHP Rony Acevedo picked up the win with 2 perfect innings in relief. Outfielder Jonesy Zarraga had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in 2 runs, while first baseman Shawn Duinkerk and second baseman Joe Bennie both singled, doubled and drove in a pair for the A’s. Meanwhile, rehabbing major leaguers Eric Chavez, Miguel Montero and Willie Bloomquist went a combined 0-for-10 for the D-backs.
