Starter Bruce Billings had a strong outing for Sacramento, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and striking out 5 over 6 innings to earn his 12th win, while RHP Paul Smyth got the final 2 outs to post his 1st save.

Outfielder Bobby Crocker had 3 hits as well, while first baseman Tony Thompson contributed a pair of doubles for the Ports. Starter Raul Alcantara turned in a strong outing, allowing 3 runs and striking out 9 over 7 innings of work, but LHP Pedro Viola picked up the win after striking out all 4 batters he faced to close out the game.

Second baseman Chris Bostick singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 12th inning, and outfielder Ryan Mathews followed up with a 3-run homer to help put the game out of reach.
