After singling, doubling and hitting a grand slam on Friday night, designated hitter Michael Choice singled, doubled and hit a 3-run homer on Saturday night. Second baseman Grant Green singled and doubled, while catcher David Freitas collected a pair of singles and drove in a run in his second game back with the River Cats. Starter Arnold Leon had a shaky outing for Sacramento, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits over 5 2/3 innings of work to take the loss.

Starter Murphy Smith had a rough outing for the RockHounds, allowing 4 runs in the 1st inning before giving way to LHP Frank Gailey in the 2nd. Gailey gave up 2 runs, just 1 earned, in 2 2/3 innings and left with the game tied. RHP Pedro Vidal surrendered just 1 run in 4 1/3 innings of relief but ended up taking his 2nd loss on Saturday. Second baseman Dusty Coleman doubled in 3 runs, while first baseman Max Muncy doubled in 2 runs for the RockHounds.

RHP James Simmons had his fourth straight shaky start for Stockton on Saturday, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits over 6 innings to take his 5th loss. Second baseman Antonio Lamas hit a 2-run homer in the 2nd inning to briefly give the Ports the lead, and designated hitter Dusty Robinson followed up with a solo shot of his own.

Catcher Nick Rickles had a big game for Beloit, collecting 5 hits, including a home run and a double, and drove in 2 runs, while outfielder John Wooten had 3 hits and drove in a pair of runs, and outfielder Aaron Shipman had 3 hits, drove in a run, scored twice and stole 2 bases for the Snappers. Starter Andres Avila had a solid outing, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings of work, but RHP Kris Hall picked up the win despite giving up 4 runs in 2 innings of relief on Saturday.

The A’s 8th overall pick in this year’s draft, RHP Kyle Finnegan, turned in another impressive outing for Vermont, allowing just 3 hits over 6 scoreless innings to earn his 2nd win on Saturday, while RHP Kayvon Bahramzadeh tossed 3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up his 1st save. Shortstop Luis Baez, outfielder B.J. Boyd and designated hitter Herschel Powell collected a pair of hits apiece for Vermont.
