RHP Travis Banwart had a shaky start for Sacramento on Saturday, allowing 4 runs, 3 earned, on 6 hits over 5 innings of work. LHP Pedro Viola surrendered a run in the 7th inning, and RHP Kyler Newby gave up 2 runs in the 8th to take the loss. First baseman Daric Barton singled, doubled and drove in 3 runs, while catcher Stephen Vogt collected 3 hits and drove in a run for the River Cats.

Starter Sean Murphy had a solid outing for the RockHounds, allowing 2 runs and striking out 5 over 6 innings of work, but he still ended up taking his 4th loss on Saturday. RHP Blake Hassebrock tossed 1 scoreless inning of relief in his debut for Midland, while RHP Brett Hunter gave up of 2 runs in his return to action for the Hounds. Third baseman Jefry Marte had a pair of doubles, and second baseman Dusty Coleman tripled in a run for the RockHounds. LHP Jake Brown was released to make room on the roster for Hassebrock.

Starter Josh Bowman allowed 3 runs over 6 innings and left with the game tied, while RHPs Seth Frankoff, Ryan Dull, Tucker Healy and LHP Shaeffer Hall combined to toss 7 scoreless innings in relief. First baseman B.A. Vollmuth hit his 19th home run in the 2nd inning, and outfielder Josh Whitaker singled home a pair of runs in the top of the 13th inning to give the Ports the win.

The A’s 4th-round draft pick this year, RHP Dylan Covey, had his rockiest outing so far this season, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits over 4 2/3 innings of work, while RHP Derek De Young gave up 1 run and struck out 5 in 3 1/3 innings of relief, and RHP Tyler Vail surrendered a run in the bottom of the 9th inning to take the loss. Shortstop Daniel Robertson singled to drive home a run for the Snappers.

Designated hitter B.J. Boyd hit a grand slam to break a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the 8th inning, while outfielder Jaycob Brugman drove in 3 runs for Vermont. Starter Jerad Grundy allowed 3 runs, just 1 earned, over 4 innings of work, while LHP Jose Torres gave up just 1 run in 4 innings of relief to earn the win.
