PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE (Triple-A)

Pitcher Travis Banwart
(5 2/3 IP / 7 H / 2 ER / 1 BB / 7 K / Win)
Starter Travis Banwart had a solid outing for Sacramento on Sunday, allowing 2 runs and striking out 7 over 5 2/3 innings to earn his 5th win, while RHP Brian Gordon got the final 3 outs for his 8th save. Shortstop Hiro Nakajima doubled, stole a base and scored, while first baseman Daric Barton had a pair of hits and drove in 2 of the River Cats’ 3 runs on the night. In other news, reports are that second baseman Grant Green will be joining the A’s on Monday. And it’s possible, with the All-Star break in sight, that a pitcher could be headed to Sacramento to make room for Green on the roster.
