Starter Andrew Werner had a rough outing for the River Cats, allowing 8 runs on 12 hits over 4 2/3 innings to take his 11th loss on Friday. Second baseman Grant Green continued his hot hitting of late, collecting 4 hits, including a pair of doubles, to raise his batting average to .319, while outfielder Michael Taylor had 2 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs, 2 RBIs, doubled and stole a base in the loss.

After having a good first outing and a shaky second outing, starter Drew Granier turned in a strong third outing for Midland on Friday. Granier allowed just 1 run and struck out 4 over 6 innings to earn his 2nd win for the RockHounds. Catcher David Freitas had 2 hits, including his 9th home run, and drove in a pair of runs, while third baseman Jefry Marte went 0 for 2 with 2 walks in his return from the disabled list for the RockHounds.

Starter Michael Ynoa had a shaky outing in his debut for the Ports, allowing 7 runs, 5 earned, on 4 hits, including a grand slam, while walking 3 and striking out 4 over 4 innings of work on Friday. But Stockton tied the game in the 6th inning, thanks to outfielder Dusty Robinson’s 13th home run, and the game went to extra innings, where outfielder Myrio Richard, who’d already had a pair of hits on the night, homered with 1 out in the bottom of the 10th to provide the Ports with a walk-off win. RHP Ryan Dull, who struck out 7 in 3 scoreless innings of relief, earned his 1st win for Stockton.

The A’s 11th overall draft pick this year, LHP Mat Stalcup allowed 2 runs over 4 innings of work to take the loss on Friday, while the A’s 12th pick, LHP Jerad Grundy, gave up 5 runs in 3 innings of relief. First baseman Ryan Huck had a pair of hits and drove in Vermont’s only run of the night.

18-year-old Venezuelan RHP Ronald Herrera had an impressive outing on Friday, allowing just 3 hits over 6 scoreless innings of work to earn his 2nd win, while RHP Nolan Sanburn allowed 1 run and struck out 3 in 2 innings of relief. First baseman Gabriel Santana and shortstop Edwin Diaz collected 3 hits apiece, and outfielder Jonesy Zarraga homered and drove in a pair of runs for the A’s.
