Third baseman Andy Parrino’s fielding error opened the door to 4 unearned runs in the 4th inning, and starter Dan Straily ended up allowing 6 runs, just 2 earned, on 9 hits while striking out 6 over 6 innings to take his 1st loss for Sacramento. Outfielder Shane Peterson hit his 6th home run in the 2nd inning to account for the River Cats’ only run of the game.

Starter Sean Murphy had a strong outing for Midland on Friday, allowing 2 runs on just 4 hits while striking out 9 over 6 innings of work, but RHP Mike DeMark gave up 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to take the loss. Center fielder Chad Oberacker had 3 hits, while left fielder Conner Crumbliss homered, doubled and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds.

First baseman Max Muncy doubled in a pair of runs to put the Ports on the board in the 6th inning, and later that same inning, second baseman Antonio Lamas launched a 3-run homer to give Stockton the lead. Starter Raul Alcantara allowed 5 runs, just 3 earned, on 6 hits and struck out 5 in 5 1/3 innings to post his 2nd win for the Ports, while RHP Ryan Dull pitched a perfect 9th to pick up his 2nd save.

Starter Dakota Bacus had an impressive outing for Beloit on Friday, allowing just 3 hits over 8 scoreless innings to earn his 7th win, and RHP Tyler Vail got the final 3 outs to post his 2nd save for the Snappers. Third baseman Renato Nunez doubled and drove in a run, while outfielder John Wooten had a pair of hits, including his 12th home run for Beloit.
