Starter Andrew Werner allowed 4 runs on 9 hits over 7 innings to pick up his 7th win on Saturday. Outfielder Michael Taylor homered in the 4th inning to give the River Cats the lead, and he also doubled and drove in 5 runs on the night, while designated hitter Scott Moore continued to wield a hot bat, collecting 3 hits, including a double, for the Cats.

Starter Carlos Hernandez allowed 3 runs on 7 hits over 6 innings to take his 7th loss on Saturday. The RockHounds managed just 6 hits on the night, 2 apiece by second baseman Conner Crumbliss and third baseman Dusty Coleman. RHP Drew Granier is scheduled to make his debut for Midland on Sunday.

Starter Tanner Peters had a solid outing for Stockton, allowing just 2 runs while walking none and striking out 4 over 6 innings of work, but RHP Blake Hassebrock gave up the go-ahead run in the 8th inning to take his 4th loss. Catcher Phil Pohl and designated hitter B.A. Vollmuth both homered for the Ports. RHP Raul Alcantara is scheduled to make his debut for Stockton on Sunday.

RHP Dakota Bacus allowed 3 runs over 5 innings of work and left with the lead. RHP Austin House gave up 3 runs, 2 earned, in 2 innings of relief to tie the game, but RHP Kris Hall, recently returned from the disabled list, tossed a perfect 8th inning to pick up the win. Outfielder John Wooten clubbed a 3-run homer, while third baseman Renato Nunez had 2 hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Snappers. 20-year-old starter Gregory Paulino had a strong outing on Saturday, allowing just 3 hits over 6 scoreless innings for Vermont, but LHP Taylor Massey gave up 4 runs to take the loss, and RHP Fernando Cruzado surrendered another 4 runs in relief. Outfielder Tyler Marincov and first baseman Michael Soto both singled, doubled and drove in a run for Vermont. The A’s 6th overall draft pick this year, RHP Dylan Covey, is scheduled to make his debut for the LakeMonsters on Sunday.
