Starter Murphy Smith allowed 2 runs on just 3 hits over 5 innings of work yesterday before the game was suspended due to rain with the scored tied 2-2. When the game resumed on Friday, LHPs Frank Gailey and Pedro Viola each tossed 2 scoreless innings, and the game remained tied until RHP Gary Daley gave up 4 runs in the top of the 10th inning to take the loss. Catcher David Freitas collected 3 hits and drove in a run for the RockHounds, while designated hitter Miles Head went 0 for 4 in his return from the disabled list.

Starter Shaeffer Hall had a shaky outing for Stockton, allowing 8 runs on 9 hits to take his 1st loss on Friday. First baseman Max Muncy continued his hot hitting, slugging his 17th home run, a 2-run shot that accounted for the Ports’ only scoring on the night.

Starter Derek De Young had a rough outing on Friday, allowing 7 runs in just 2/3 of an inning to take his 2nd loss. Third baseman Renato Nunez had 2 hits, including his 13th home run, and drove in a pair of runs in the loss.
In Other News…
The A’s 1st-round draft pick, outfielder Billy McKinney, officially agreed to terms with the A’s on a reported $1.8 million contract on Friday. The 18-year-old made his first appearance at the Coliseum and had the chance to meet general manager Billy Beane, take batting practice in a group that included Yoenis Cespedes, and take a seat in the broadcast booth to answer a few questions. And after a whirlwind day in Oakland, he’ll be on a plane to Phoenix first thing in the morning to begin getting ready for the start of the Arizona League season next Thursday.
