RHP Bruce Billings had another strong start for Sacramento, allowing 1 run on just 4 hits over 6 innings to earn his league-leading 8th win. Catcher Luke Montz homered for the 2nd straight night, while outfielder Shane Peterson had 3 hits and drove in 4 runs, shortstop Jemile Weeks had 3 hits, including 2 triples, and second baseman Grant Green collected 4 hits and drove in a pair of runs to raise his average to .306.

It was the second straight rough night for the RockHounds’ lineup. The team tallied 2 hits on Friday and managed just 4 on Saturday. RHP Murphy Smith had a shaky start, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits over 6 innings to take his 7th loss, but former major-leaguer Pedro Viola struck out the side in the 9th inning to provide one of the few highlights of the game for the RockHounds.

RHP James Simmons took another positive step forward in his return to starting pitching, allowing 3 runs, just 2 earned, while striking out 6 over 6 innings to earn his 3rd win. Outfielder Dusty Robinson slugged a 3-run homer in the 2nd inning to give the Ports the lead, while second baseman Antonio Lamas added a 2-run shot in the 7th, and shortstop Addison Russell collected a pair of doubles to raise his season total to 17.

RHP Seth Streich had his second straight strong start for the Snappers on Saturday, allowing just 1 run while striking out 5 over 5 2/3 innings to earn his 6th win. First baseman Matt Olson hit his 8th home run, while shortstop Daniel Robertson and outfielder Dayton Alexander contributed a pair of hits apiece for the Snappers.
