LHP Justin Thomas made his 3rd straight quality start for Sacramento on Monday, allowing just 4 hits over 6 scoreless innings, but RHP Paul Smyth came in and gave up the tying run in the bottom of the 7th inning. The game remained tied until the bottom of the 14th, when RHP Mike Ekstrom surrendered a pair of hits to allow the winning run to score. First baseman Daric Barton singled home catcher Stephen Vogt in the 2nd inning for the River Cats’ only run of the game.

Former 1st-round draft pick James Simmons delivered another strong start for Stockton on Monday, tossing 7 scoreless innings to earn his 2nd win. First baseman Max Muncy did most of the damage at the plate for the Ports, going 2 for 3 and driving in 3 of Stockton’s 4 runs on the night.

Starter Derek De Young had another solid start for the Snappers on Monday, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits over 6 innings, while RHP Vince Voiro gave up 1 run in 3 innings of relief to take the loss. Designated hitter Ryan Delgado, recently demoted from Stockton, doubled in the Snappers’ only run of the game in the 2nd inning.
