LHP Justin Thomas had his 3rd straight quality start for Sacramento, allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, in 7 innings of work to earn his 3rd win on Wednesday, while RHPs Chris Resop and Dan Otero each tossed a scoreless inning of relief for the River Cats. Left fielder Michael Choice collected a pair of doubles and drove in 3 runs, while shortstop Andy Parrino blasted a 2-run homer, third baseman Hiro Nakajima had a pair of hits to raise his average to .301, and A’s outfielder Josh Reddick started in right field and went 1 for 4 with a walk and a stolen base and scored twice in his second rehab game with the River Cats.

RHP Zach Neal had a rare rough outing for the RockHounds on Wednesday, allowing 11 runs on 13 hits over 6 innings to take his 2nd loss against 5 wins. Long-time major leaguer Roy Oswalt was the winner for the Drillers. RHP Gary Daley made his return to the RockHounds after serving a 50-game suspension for testing positive for banned drugs, and he allowed 5 runs in just 1/3 of an inning in relief. Designated hitter Anthony Aliotti doubled and drove in Midland’s only run of the game.

After not allowing a run in his first two starts for Stockton, former 1st-round draft pick James Simmons had a rougher time of it on Wednesday, allowing 5 runs, 4 earned, on 8 hits over 4 innings to take his 1st loss. LHP Jake Brown surrendered 4 runs, and RHP David Mota gave up 5 runs, 3 earned, in relief. Outfielder Myrio Richard hit his 4th home run to account for the Ports’ only run of the game.

Second baseman Chris Bostick belted his 3rd home run, while first baseman Matt Olson slugged his 7th for the Snappers.
