A’s Farmhand Of The Day
PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE (Triple-A)
Tacoma Rainiers 9
Sacramento River Cats 5
LP – Werner 0-2 / 12.10
HR – Montz (1)
Farmhand Of The Game:
Outfielder Michael Taylor
(3 for 5 / 2 Doubles / 2 RBIs)
Starter Andrew Werner had his second straight rough outing for the River Cats, allowing 5 runs in 5 1/3 innings to take his 2nd loss. Outfielder Michael Taylor extended his hitting streak to 6 games on Tuesday, collecting 3 hits, including 2 doubles, and driving in a pair of runs. Designated hitter Jemile Weeks doubled to run his hit streak to 6 games as well, and Grant Green, getting his 5th start in 6 games at second base, had 2 hits in the game. And with Scott Sizemore’s knee injury in Anaheim, Weeks and Green could potentially be in competition for a little major league time in the near future. It appears that shortstop Andy Parrino may be in the mix as well.
