Worth Noting: First baseman Chris Carter continued his tear, blasting 2 home runs on Friday night after launching 2 homers on Thursday. Infielder Brandon Hicks also continued his hot-hitting, doubling and tripling on Friday, outfielders Grant Green and Brandon Moss collected 2 hits apiece, but left-hander Fabio Castro allowed 6 runs in the 6th inning and right-hander Jim Miller gave up 1 run in the 10th to take the loss. Look for Manny Ramirez to join the River Cats lineup on Saturday.

Worth Noting: Outfielder Dusty Robinson made a good first impression in Stockton on Friday night, homering in his first game with the Ports after his promotion from Burlington.Stockton’s reigning offensive star, infielder Miles Head, collected 3 hits, including a double and a triple, to raise his batting average on the season to a robust .376 – and he could be the next in line for a promotion. Starter A.J. Cole had another rocky outing, allowing 6 runs on 10 hits over 4 innings to run his record to 0-7.
