Worth Noting: Outfielder Michael Taylor has picked up where he left off when the River Cats’ hottest hitter was promoted by the A’s a little over a week ago. He collected 2 hits on Sunday, raising his average to .360, infielders Luke Hughes, Stephen Parker and Adam Rosales each drove in a run in the loss, and right-hander A.J. Griffin, making his first start since his promotion from Midland, allowed 3 runs in 6 innings of work to take the loss.

Outfielder Jeremy Barfield drove in 2 runs for the RockHounds, and first baseman Michael Spina and second baseman Tyler Ladendorf drove in a run apiece. Starter Daniel Straily had his shakiest outing of the season, allowing 6 runs on 8 hits over 5 innings to take his 4th loss.

Worth Noting: Starter Sean Murphy had another solid outing, allowing just 1 run and striking out 5 over 6 innings of work, but the Bees were unable to push a run across the plate before his exit. They did eventually score 3 runs over the final 2 innings, the biggest blow being a 2-run single off the bat of third baseman B.A. Vollmuth in the 9th that still left the Bees 2 runs short.
