Second baseman Ryan Pineda had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in a pair of runs for the Ports.

This year’s 6th-round draft pick Seth Streich came on to strike out 5 in 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief, while third baseman Jacob Tanis collected 2 hits, including a double, and drove in a pair of runs in the loss.

Worth Noting: Designated hitter Kila Ka’aihue clubbed his 11th and 12th home runs, while shortstop Brandon Hicks blasted his 14th on Saturday. Starter Brad Peacock allowed 3 runs over 5 innings to earn his 10th win for the River Cats.

Worth Noting: Shortstop Dusty Coleman and outfielder Tyler Ladendorf both launched 3-run homers for the RockHounds, but it wasn’t enough on Saturday. Starter Murphy Smith allowed 4 runs on 8 hits over 6 innings of work, while Midland’s shaky bullpen gave up 4 runs in the 7th and 8th innings to surrender the lead, with right-hander Brett Hunter taking the loss for the RockHounds.

Worth Noting: With 2 outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 1st inning, second baseman Ryan Pineda doubled to clear the bases and give the Ports the lead, which they would never relinquish. Outfielder Myrio Richard homered, while infielder Tony Thompson and catcher Ryan Ortiz both doubled and drove in a run. Starter Jacob Brown allowed 3 runs over 5 inings to earn his 5th win for the Ports.

Worth Noting: Starter Drew Granier turned in another impressive outing, allowing just 1 hit and 1 run while striking out 7 over 5 2/3 innings, and left the game with the lead. But right-handers Nate Eppley and Raul Alcantara combined to give up 8 runs in the 7th inning to surrender the lead, with Alcantara taking his 10th loss for Burlington. Outfielders Douglas Landaeta and Rashun Dixon drove in 3 runs apiece for the Bees.

Worth Noting: In his first game since being demoted from Vermont, third baseman Chad Lewis, serving as the designated hitter, homered in the top of the 8th inning to provide the game-winning run on Saturday. Outfielder Herschel Powell and catcher Phil Pohl also drove in a run apiece in the win. Starter Gregory Paulino allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, on 8 hits and struck out 7 over 5 innings of work, while right-hander Tyler Johnson tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to earn his 5th win.

Worth Noting: Starter Travis Banwart had his best start of the season, allowing just 1 run over 5 innings, but left-hander Erick Threets earned the win with 2 scoreless innings of relief. Catcher Petey Paramore homered, third baseman Stephen Parker singled in the tying run, and Wes Timmons sacrificed to score the winning run for the Rivercats.

Worth Noting: Outfielder Jeremy Barfield continued his hot hitting, going 4 for 5 with 6 RBIs, outfielder Shane Peterson also collected 4 hits, and outfielder Michael Choice, first baseman Anthony Aliotti and infielder Josh Horton contributed 3 hits apiece. Starter Gary Daley notched his second win by allowing 3 runs over 6 1/3 innings of work.

Kirby-Jones also homered, and outfielder Myrio Richard and the hot-hitting Miles Head contributed 3 hits apiece. Starter Blake Hassebrock had a rough outing, allowing 6 runs on 11 hits over 4 1/3 innings.
