The Lake Monsters lost in a 10-inning walk-off on Monday. This year’s 36th-round draft pick for the A’s, center fielder Logan Farrar, had another big game at the plate for Vermont. The 22-year-old collected 3 hits, including 2 doubles, and drove in a pair of runs, and he’s now gone 7 for 18 with 6 RBIs over his last 5 games for the Lake Monsters. 4th-round third baseman Will Toffey and 25th-round first baseman Hunter Hargrove both singled and doubled in the loss. 19-year-old Venezuelan RHP Oscar Tovar made the start and allowed 2 runs over 5 innings of work. 20-year-old Dominican RHP Wandisson Charles came in to to preserve a 3-run lead in the bottom of the 9th but instead surrendered 3 runs to send the game to extra innings. And 23rd-round RHP Malik Jones ended up allowing the winning run in the bottom of the 10th to take the loss as Hudson Valley won in a walk-off on Monday.

RHP Heath Bowers allowed 1 run in 3 innings of relief to secure his 4th save for the Snappers. Shortstop Sheldon Neuse, recently acquired from the Nationals in the Ryan Madson/Sean Doolittle deal, had a big night at the plate for the Ports on Friday. The 22-year-old collected 3 hits, including a 3-run homer in the 1st inning and a 2-run shot in the 9th. First baseman Mikey White doubled and singled twice, while left fielder Brett Siddall had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in 2 runs, and right fielder Seth Brown walked and doubled in a pair for the Ports. Stockton starter Kyle Friedrichs gave up 3 runs over 3 2/3 innings of work, while RHP Brendan Butler allowed 1 run in 4 innings of relief to earn his 3rd win on Friday. In other news, RHP James Naile is set to be activated from the disabled list and make the start for Stockton on Saturday.

First baseman Sandber Pimentel homered for the second straight night, while right fielder Seth Brown had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, and designated hitter Marcus Semien singled, doubled, homered and drove in a pair in his first rehab appearance for the Ports. With two men on and the game tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 7th inning, first baseman Matt Olson stepped to the plate and slugged a 3-run homer to give the Sounds the walk-off win in the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader. Both of Tuesday’s contests were 7-inning affairs. Second baseman Joey Wendle‘s 3-run homer tied the game in the 6th, while left fielder Renato Nunez singled, doubled and scored a run, and shortstop Franklin Barreto and designated hitter Bruce Maxwell had a pair of hits apiece for the Sounds. Starter Paul Blackburn allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 2 innings of work, while LHP Patrick Schuster tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Simon Castro notched the win after throwing a scoreless frame in the top of the 7th for Nashville.

RHP Casey Meisner turned in his best start of the season to help Stockton snap its three-game losing streak on Saturday. The 22-year-old was charged with 1 unearned run while allowing just 1 hit and striking out 7 over 8 innings of work to earn his 5th win, and he’s now failed to allow an earned run over his last 14 2/3 frames for the Ports. Last year’s 14th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Nolan Blackwood, got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 8th save. First baseman Sandber Pimentel singled, doubled and drove in both Stockton runs, while center fielder Skye Bolt collected 3 hits, including a double, and catcher Sean Murphy and left fielder Tyler Ramirez had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports. Unfortunately, with Modesto’s win on Saturday, Stockton was officially eliminated from the first-half North Division playoff race.
