The Lake Monsters lost in a 10-inning walk-off on Monday. This year’s 36th-round draft pick for the A’s, center fielder Logan Farrar, had another big game at the plate for Vermont. The 22-year-old collected 3 hits, including 2 doubles, and drove in a pair of runs, and he’s now gone 7 for 18 with 6 RBIs over his last 5 games for the Lake Monsters. 4th-round third baseman Will Toffey and 25th-round first baseman Hunter Hargrove both singled and doubled in the loss. 19-year-old Venezuelan RHP Oscar Tovar made the start and allowed 2 runs over 5 innings of work. 20-year-old Dominican RHP Wandisson Charles came in to to preserve a 3-run lead in the bottom of the 9th but instead surrendered 3 runs to send the game to extra innings. And 23rd-round RHP Malik Jones ended up allowing the winning run in the bottom of the 10th to take the loss as Hudson Valley won in a walk-off on Monday.

The 22-year-old allowed just 3 hits while striking out 6 over 7 shutout innings to earn his 4th win for the RockHounds, and he’s now failed to allow a run over his last 14 frames for the Hounds. LHP Brandon Mann and RHP Carlos Navas each contributed a scoreless inning in relief to complete the 3-hit shutout on Sunday. First baseman Viosergy Rosa singled, tripled and walked, while center fielder B.J. Boyd had 3 hits, stole a base and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

Five home runs helped the Sounds win a slugfest in Reno on Saturday. First baseman Matt Olson reached base 4 times, collecting 3 hits, including his 23rd home run, while also drawing a walk, and Olson has now gone 7 for 18 with 3 home runs and 5 RBIs over his last 4 games for the Sounds. Center fielder Yairo Munoz singled, homered and drove in 4 runs, while third baseman Renato Nunez doubled, walked, hit his minor-league-leading 29th home run and drove in a pair. Shortstop Franklin Barreto singled and homered, and designated hitter Chris Carter doubled, walked and hit a 2-run homer for the Sounds. Starter Ben Bracewell gave up 8 runs over 3 2/3 innings of work, while LHP Felix Doubront tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to notch his 2nd win for Nashville. Meanwhile, former Sounds catcher Ryan Lavarnway was designated for assignment by the A’s, and Nashville RHPs Jesse Hahn and Tucker Healy were both placed on the disabled list on Saturday. Hahn suffered a lat strain while Healy is dealing with a bicep strain.

Second baseman Franklin Barreto continued his hot hitting of late, collecting 3 hits, including a home run and a double, and the 21-year-old has now gone 12 for 20 over his last 5 games for the Sounds. First baseman Matt Olson doubled, hit his 22nd home run and drove in 3, while left fielder Renato Nunez walked, doubled, drilled his minor-league-leading 28th homer and drove in a pair, and designated hitter Chris Carter walked and slugged a 2-run shot for the Sounds. It might have taken 10 innings, but the Snappers won in a walk-off to notch their seventh victory in their last eight games on Thursday. First baseman Miguel Mercedes had a big night at the plate for Beloit, coming a triple short of a cycle. The 21-year-old collected 3 hits, including his 14th home run and his 21st double, both of which lead the team. And after Beloit was behind 6-0, his 2-run homer in the Snappers’ 4-run 6th brought his team back within 2 runs. Beloit tied the game in the bottom of the 8th. Then, after Peoria’s Dewin Perez walked the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, center fielder Mike Martin‘s sacrifice fly brought home the winning run as the Snappers won in a walk-off. Martin also tripled and scored a run in the game, while shortstop Eric Marinez singled in a run in the 8th, and catcher Jason Goldstein singled twice and walked twice for Beloit. Starter Seth Martinez surrendered 6 runs over 5 frames, while RHP Mitchell Jordan was solid in relief, throwing 3 shutout innings, and RHP John Gorman tossed 2 scoreless innings to pick up his 1st win for the Snappers.

The 22-year-old collected 4 hits, including a home run and a pair of doubles, while driving in 4 runs, and he’s now slashing .388/.452/.687 for Stockton in the second half. Catcher Argenis Raga singled and slugged a 3-run homer, while center fielder Luis Barrera singled and belted a 2-run blast, and right fielder Seth Brown singled, doubled, stole a base and drove in a pair. Ports pitchers shut out the 66ers on just 5 hits on Tuesday. Starter Dalton Sawyer struck out 7 over 5 scoreless innings to earn his 2nd win for Stockton, while RHP Kyle Friedrichs allowed just 1 hit over 4 scoreless frames to complete the shutout and pick up his 1st save for the Ports. RHP Matt Milburn turned in another outstanding start to help the Snappers win their fifth straight. Last year’s 29th-round draft pick for the A’s allowed 2 runs on just 5 hits over 7 innings of work but left with the game a 2-2 tie on Monday. The 24-year-old has now compiled an impressive 1.85 ERA in 8 starts for the Snappers in the second half. RHP Joseph Camacho gave up the go-ahead run in the top of the 8th, but first baseman Kyle Nowlin belted a game-tying home run in the bottom of the 8th. And the game remained tied until the bottom of the 12th, when right fielder Mike Martin beat out a fielder’s choice with the bases loaded to bring home second baseman Trace Loehr as the Snappers won in a walk-off. RHP Yordys Alejo tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win as Beloit notched its ninth victory in its last ten games on Monday.

Ports batters continued their recent offensive outburst by blasting five home runs in the game. First baseman Sandber Pimentel had 3 hits and homered for the second straight night, while shortstop Sheldon Neuse homered for the third time in the last three days, belting a 3-run blast to put the Ports on the board in the 4th. Center fielder Luis Barrera slugged a solo shot, and catcher Argenis Raga and left fielder Brett Siddall both singled, homered and drove in a pair for the Ports.

After scoring 11 runs in Friday’s win, the Ports exploded for 15 runs on Saturday to take their second straight from Modesto. 22-year-old first baseman Sandber Pimentel had a huge night at the plate, collecting 4 hits, including a home run and a pair of doubles, while driving in 3 runs for Stockton. Shortstop Sheldon Neuse had 4 singles and a walk and drove in a run, while designated hitter Eli White tripled, singled twice and drove in 3, and right fielder Seth Brown tripled, doubled and drove in a pair for the Ports. RHP James Naile was activated from the disabled list and made his first start for Stockton this season, allowing 2 runs over 3 innings of work, while LHP Jared Lyons tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win. In other news, Ports pitcher Brandon Bailey was placed on the disabled list with a groin injury.
