First baseman Lawrence Butler hit a pair of home runs to help the Ports snap their nine-game losing streak on Wednesday. The 21-year-old tagged a two-run homer with two outs in the top of the 3rd inning to break up a scoreless tie and then stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the 8th and slugged a grand slam for Stockton. Butler now leads the squad with 12 home runs. The Ports only picked up 3 other hits in the game. 24-year-old Cuban RHP Diego Granado made the start and threw 3 scoreless innings, while tandem starter Jorge Juan allowed 1 run and struck out 5 over 4 frames to secure the win for Stockton.

    1. Well, if so, it wouldn’t be surprising. At this time of year, scouts are usually crawling all over the minors in case some kind of potential trade talk actually comes to fruition. I would just say it signifies that the A’s and Twins have been talking and, if so, the Twins just want to be prepared.
