Las Vegas notched its second straight victory over Albuquerque on Sunday to remain tied with El Paso for first place in the Pacific Southern Division. Second baseman Franklin Barreto singled twice and slugged a two-run homer, and he’s now gone 9 for 30 with 4 home runs over his last 8 games for Las Vegas. Catcher Cameron Rupp drew a walk and slugged a solo shot, while left fielder Mark Payton launched a two-run homer. First baseman Seth Brown singled, doubled, stole a base and scored a run, and right fielder Skye Bolt went 0 for 3 with a walk and scored a run in his return from the injured list on Sunday. LHP Sean Manaea made the start and allowed 2 runs on 2 hits, including a home run, while walking 1 and striking out 6 over 5 frames to earn the win, while RHP Jharel Cotton gave up 1 hit while walking 1 and striking out 2 in 1 scoreless inning of relief for Las Vegas. Meanwhile, infielder Eric Campbell was placed on the injured list on Sunday.

The RockHounds won in extra innings on Sunday. Third baseman Mikey White continued his hot hitting of late, collecting 3 hits, including a three-run homer, and White has now gone 8 for 19 with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs over his last 4 games for Midland. Shortstop Edwin Diaz drew a pair of walks and doubled in the tying run in the 9th to send the game to extra innings, while pinch-hitter Tyler Ramirez doubled in the winning run in the top of the 10th for the RockHounds. Starter Brian Howard gave up 5 runs, 3 earned, on 9 hits over 4 frames in his return to the RockHounds from Las Vegas, while RHP Jesus Zambrano tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win for Midland.

Stockton suffered a one-run loss to Lake Elsinore on Sunday. Starter Hogan Harris turned in a strong start, allowing just 1 hit over 5 scoreless frames, and he left the game with a four-run lead. But RHP Michael Danielak allowed 1 run in 2 innings of relief, while RHP Eric Marinez gave up 2 runs in the 8th inning, and RHP Jake Bray surrendered a pair of runs in the bottom of the 9th to suffer his 2nd loss as Lake Elsinore won in a walk-off. Second baseman Trace Loehr singled, doubled, drove in a run and stole a base for Stockton in the loss.

The Snappers suffered their second straight loss to Burlington on Sunday. RHP Bryce Nightengale returned from the injured list to make the start and allowed 1 run in 2 innings of work, while RHP Joe DeMers surrendered 7 runs over 5 1/3 frames to take the loss. Catcher John Jones singled twice, walked twice, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs, while center fielder Devin Foyle doubled, drew a walk, stole a base and scored a run for the Snappers in the loss. Meanwhile, Beloit outfielder Anthony Churlin was placed on the injured list on Sunday.

Vermont notched its fourth victory in its last five games on Sunday. Right fielder Marty Bechina collected 5 hits, including a double, and scored 3 runs, while first baseman Dustin Harris had 3 hits and drove in a pair. Third baseman Jordan Diaz hit a two-run homer, and designated hitter Kyle McCann doubled twice and drove in a run for Vermont. Starter Leudeny Pineda allowed 2 runs, 1 earned, in 3 2/3 innings of work, while LHP Jorge Martinez tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win, and RHP Jose Mora struck out the side in order in the 9th to notch his 10th save for the Lake Monsters.
