The Aviators notched their second straight win over the Isotopes on Wednesday. Third baseman Sheldon Neuse collected a pair of hits, including a tie-breaking, two-run homer in the 3rd inning to give Las Vegas a lead it would never surrender. Second baseman Corban Joseph had a pair of hits and drove in a run, while left fielder Mark Payton singled twice and drove in a pair. Designated hitter Nick Martini drew a walk and singled in a run, and first baseman Seth Brown doubled in a run and stole a base for the Aviators. Starter Tyler Alexander allowed 2 runs over 4 1/3 frames, while RHP J.B. Wendelken tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief to earn the win, and RHP Brian Schlitter pitched a perfect 9th to pick up his 8th save for the Aviators.

Midland fell to Frisco for the second straight day on Wednesday. In his first appearance in five weeks, RHP Grant Holmes returned from the injured list to make the start and issued 3 walks without allowing a hit over 3 scoreless innings for the RockHounds. His tandem-pitching partner, RHP Daulton Jefferies, gave up 1 run in 3 innings of work and left the game with a one-run lead. But RHP Trey McNutt surrendered 4 runs in 2 innings of relief to record the loss for the RockHounds. Catcher Jonah Heim homered, while center fielder Dairon Blanco tripled, walked and scored a run, and second baseman Mikey White singled, doubled and drove in a run for the RockHounds.
