Stockton won in a walk-off to snap its three-game losing streak on Friday. A’s RHP Jharel Cotton, who underwent Tommy John surgery last March, returned to the mound on Friday to begin his rehab assignment with Stockton. Cotton surrendered a two-run homer in the 1st inning and ended up allowing 2 runs on 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3 over 2 2/3 innings of work. Cotton threw 47 pitches, 30 for strikes and, according to Ports play-by-play man Zack Bayrouty, Cotton’s fastball was sitting between 90-93 mph. RHP Mitchell Jordan took over for Cotton on the mound and allowed just 1 run and struck out 6 over 6 1/3 innings of work to pick up his 4th win for the Ports. Left fielder Lazaro Armenteros singled, walked and belted a two-run homer in the bottom of the 1st inning, while shortstop Jeremy Eierman slugged a solo shot in the 2nd, and third baseman Jonah Bride singled in the winning run with one out in the bottom of the 9th to help Stockton win in a walk-off. RHP James Kaprielian is set to make the start for Stockton on Saturday, weather permitting.
