RHP James Naile turned in a solid start to help Nashville notch its ninth straight win on Tuesday. Naile allowed 2 runs over 5 innings of work to earn his 7th win for the Sounds, and Nashville starters are now 6-0 with a 1.69 ERA in the month of August. Relievers Carlos Ramirez, Danny Coulombe, Dean Kiekhefer and Liam Hendriks each contributed a scoreless frame on Tuesday, with Hendriks picking up his 2nd save for the Sounds. Left fielder Dustin Fowler singled, doubled, stole a base and drove in a run, and he’s now 9 for 21 since returning to Nashville. Third baseman Sheldon Neuse singled twice and drove in a run, while right fielder J.P. Sportman and designated hitter Anthony Garcia each doubled in a run for the Sounds. In other news, the A’s sent RHPs Ryan Dull and J.B. Wendelken and infielder Franklin Barreto back to the Sounds. And with Tuesday night’s crowd of 8,412, Nashville became the first minor league team this season to surpass 500,000 in attendance.
