Stockton snapped its three-game losing streak on Thursday. RHP Matt Milburn turned in his second straight outstanding start for Stockton, allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, while walking none and striking out 5 over 7 frames to pick up his 7th win for the Ports. Milburn has failed to issue a walk in his last 2 starts and has walked just 2 batters over his last 5 outings. He’s allowed just 1 earned run in each of his last 2 starts and has given up more than 1 earned run just once in his last 5 outings. LHP Andrew Tomasovich came on to toss a scoreless 8th, and RHP Angel Duno got the final three outs in the 9th to pick up his 13th save for the Ports. Right fielder Brett Siddall, delivered the big blow, belting a three-run homer to account for all of Stockton’s scoring on the night. Meanwhile, Midwest League strikeout leader Wyatt Marks was promoted to the Ports from the Snappers on Thursday.

Nashville notched its fourth straight win, this one in a walk-off, on Thursday. RHP James Naile turned in a strong start for the Sounds, allowing 1 run on just 3 hits over 6 innings of work, but he left the game with his team down by a run. Catcher Beau Taylor walked and scored the tying run in the 8th inning, and right fielder Boog Powell singled in the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 9th as the Sounds won in a walk-off. Powell singled twice in the game, while Taylor drew a pair of walks. RHP Liam Hendriks tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to notch his 3rd win for Nashville, and former A’s farmhand Brendan McCurry suffered the loss for Fresno. Meanwhile, RHP Jake Sanchez, who had a 4.15 ERA in 30 appearances for the Sounds this season, was released on Thursday.

RHP Brian Howard turned in his third straight quality start, allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, over 6 2/3 innings to earn his 2nd win for the RockHounds on Thursday, and he’s now given up just 2 earned runs in 20 2/3 innings over his last 3 starts for Midland. Left fielder Tyler Ramirez doubled in a run, drew a pair of walks and scored twice, while center fielder Luis Barrera had 2 hits, including a double, drove in a run and stole a base, and second baseman Eli White and third baseman Nate Mondou each singled, doubled and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

RHP Bryce Conley returned from the disabled list to make the start on Thursday and was solid, allowing 1 run on just 1 hit, a home run in the 4th inning, while walking none and striking out 5 over 4 frames, but he still ended up suffering the loss for the Snappers. Second baseman Ryan Gridley drew a walk and doubled in a run, while center fielder Austin Beck singled twice and drove in a run, and right fielder Mickey McDonald and designated hitter Jack Meggs had a pair of hits apiece for the Snappers. And with Conley’s return to the active roster, Midwest League strikeout leader Wyatt Marks was promoted to the Ports on Thursday.

Vermont notched a one-run victory over Hudson Valley on Thursday. This year’s third overall draft pick for the A’s, shortstop Jeremy Eierman, singled, hit his team-leading 5th homer run and scored 3 times, while this year’s 8th-round pick, designated hitter JJ Schwarz, singled twice, drew a walk and drove in a run, and 23rd-round third baseman Jonah Bride had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in a run for the Lake Monsters. 22-year-old Venezuelan LHP Jhenderson Hurtado made the start and gave up 2 runs over 4 frames, while LHP Chris Kohler allowed 1 run in 3 innings of relief to earn his 2nd win, and last year’s 31st-round pick, RHP Brandon Withers, got the final six outs for the Lake Monsters to post his 4th save.
