Catcher Jonah Heim had a big night at the plate to help the Ports prevail for the sixth time in their last seven games and notch their 5000th win in franchise history on Tuesday. Heim, who was acquired from Tampa Bay in the offseason, hit his 5th home run of the season in the 4th inning and then slugged his 6th home run in the 6th. Heim now leads the team with 23 extra-base hits on the season. Center fielder Skye Bolt hit his team-leading 8th home run in the 8th to provide the Ports with their only other run of the game. Rehabbing RHP Santiago Casilla made the start and pitched a scoreless frame in the 1st before departing and making way for RHP Parker Dunshee, who was outstanding. Dunshee tossed 5 2/3 scoreless frames to earn the win, while RHP Miguel Romero got the final three outs to secure his team-leading 12th save for Stockton. Meanwhile, Ports catcher Jason Goldstein was reassigned to the Sounds on Tuesday.

The Sounds suffered their third loss in teir last four games on Tuesday to see their record fall to an even .500. Starter Eric Jokisch allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 6 innings of work to suffer his 7th loss for the Sounds. Left fielder BJ Boyd doubled and hit a two-run homer in the 7th inning to bring Nashville back within a run, but that’s as close as the Sounds would get. Designated hitter Anthony Garcia tripled, walked and drove in a run, while right fielder Ramon Laureano singled twice, drew a walk and stole a base, and first baseman Nick Martini singled to extend his hitting streak to 12 games and his on-base streak to 43 games. In other news, Sounds catcher Josh Phegley was recalled by Oakland, while the A’s sent RHP Josh Lucas back to Nashville, and catcher Jason Goldstein was promoted from the Ports to the Sounds on Tuesday.

RHP Logan Shore was charged with 5 runs over 6 2/3 frames to suffer his 1st loss for the RockHounds on Tuesday. First baseman Seth Brown had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in 2 runs, while third baseman J.P. Sportman singled, doubled, stole a base and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

Third baseman Jesus Lopez had a big night at the plate to help the Snappers win the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader. Lopez had 3 hits, including a home run, and drove in 3 runs, while second baseman Trace Loehr slugged a solo shot. Left fielder Jack Meggs singled, tripled and drove in a run, and right fielder JaVon Shelby went 1 for 2 in his season debut for the Snappers. LHP Jared Poche turned in a solid start, allowing 2 runs over 5 frames to earn his 2nd win, while RHP Seth Martinez pitched 2 perfect innings in relief to pick up his 6th save for the Snappers. And with Shelby’s return to the roster, infielder Jesus Lage was reassigned to Vermont on Tuesday.

RHP Jean Ruiz had another rough start, surrendering 7 runs over 4 frames to suffer his 5th loss as the Snappers split Tuesday’s doubleheader. Catcher Skyler Weber singled, walked, drove in a run and scored a run, while third baseman Jesus Lopez doubled and scored, and center fielder Mickey McDonald and designated hitter Jack Meggs had a pair of hits apiece for the Snappers.
