Stockton won its fifth straight on Saturday to run its league-best record to 35-21. Second baseman Nate Mondou had a big night at the plate for the Ports. The 23-year-old singled and later scored when he stole home on a double steal in the 1st inning. Mondou then hit a three-run homer with two outs in the top of the 4th. He crossed the plate 3 times and swiped a total of 3 bases on the night, and Mondou nows leads the Ports in hits, runs and RBIs while batting a solid .291 for Stockton. Catcher Jonah Heim doubled 3 times and drove in a run and now leads the squad with 16 doubles. Starter Zack Erwin allowed 3 runs over 6 innings of work to pick up his 5th win for the Ports.

The Sounds lost to the Express for the second straight night, and center fielder Jake Smolinski and right fielder Ramon Laureano both homered for the second straight night as well. Laureano hit a two-run homer and also doubled, while Smolinski slugged a solo shot, drew a walk and drove in a run on a ground out for the Sounds. First baseman Nick Martini had 3 hits, including a double, and scored twice. RHP Chris Bassitt had a shaky start, surrendering 5 runs, 4 earned, over 4 frames to suffer his 3rd loss on Saturday, while RHP Liam Hendriks allowed 1 run on a home run in 1 inning of relief in his second rehab appearance with the Sounds.

The RockHounds went down to defeat in extra innings on Saturday to see their record fall to a game under .500. Right fielder Tyler Marincov had another big game, homering to put the Hounds on the board in the bottom of the 2nd inning and then doubling and scoring the tying run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 9th. Marincov has homered in 3 straight games and is now 12 for 31 with 6 home runs and 14 RBIs over his last 7 games for the RockHounds. Shortstop Richie Martin also kept up his hot hitting, going 2 for 4 with a triple, a double and a walk to raise his batting average to .350. RHP Norge Ruiz turned in a solid start for the RockHounds, allowing 2 runs over 7 2/3 innings of work, but he left with his team down by a run. RHP Nolan Blackwood tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, but RHP John Gorman allowed the winning run to score in the top of the 11th to suffer his 2nd loss on Saturday.

The Snappers lost in extra innings to see their three-game winning streak snapped on Saturday. Right fielder Logan Farrar drew a walk and hit a 3-run homer to put Beloit on the board in the 1st inning, while third baseman Jesus Lopez doubled in a run in the 4th inning and homered in the 6th. Center fielder Austin Beck singled twice and drove in the tying run in the 9th, and second baseman Trace Loehr had 3 hts, including a double, and drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th. Starter Wyatt Marks allowed 3 runs and struck out 7 over 5 frames, while RHP Heath Bowers surrendered 3 runs over 2 innings. RHP Seth Martinez permitted 2 runs in 1 inning of relief, and LHP Josh Reagan gave up 2 runs, 1 earned, in the bottom of the 10th to suffer his 3rd loss for the Snappers.
