Center fielder Skye Bolt’s big bat helped the Ports prevail for the third time in their last four games on Wednesday. The 24-year-old punched a pair of home runs to take over the team lead with 7 on the season. Bolt slugged a solo shot in the bottom of the 1st to put the Ports on the board and then belted a two-run blast in the 5th to extend Stockton’s lead. Left fielder Luke Persico drilled a tie-breaking two-run drive in the 4th, while right fielder Luis Barrera doubled twice and drove in a run. First baseman Sandber Pimentel tripled in a run, and designated hitter Dairon Blanco had a pair of hits and tallied his team-leading 17th stolen base. RHP Parker Dunshee turned in another strong start for Stockton, allowing 2 runs and striking out 7 over 6 2/3 innings to earn his 4th win, while RHP Miguel Romero notched the final out in the 9th to pick up his 11th save for the Ports.

Last year’s 29th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Adam Reuss, replaced Poche on the mound and gave up 4 runs in 2 2/3 innings of relief in his Midwest League debut. Shortstop Nick Allen, who had been 1 for his last 20, had a big game for Beloit. The 19-year-old came a home run sort of the cycle, collecting a single, a double and a triple while driving in a run for the Snappers in the loss.
