Prospect Of The Game:

First Baseman Hunter Hargrove

(4 for 5 / 3 Home Runs / Double / 7 RBIs)

First baseman Hunter Hargrove had a huge night at the plate to help Beloit best Burlington on Saturday. Last year’s 25th-round draft pick for the A’s slugged 3 home runs and a double while driving in 7 runs for the Snappers. Hargrove joined Beloit on April 15 after first basemen Miguel Mercedes landed on the disabled list and, despite appearing in just 36 games, the 23-year-old leads the squad in both doubles and total bases. Designated hitter Logan Farrar drew a walk and drilled his team-leading 5th home run, and second baseman Trace Loehr had 3 hits, including a triple, and stole a base for the Snappers. Starter Mitchell Jordan allowed 3 runs over 4 2/3 frames, while LHP Ty Damron threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his 2nd win, and RHP Seth Martinez picked up his 3rd save despite surrendering 2 runs in 3 innings of relief on Saturday.

RHP Matt Milburn, who was promoted from the Ports to fill in for RHP Daniel Gossett earlier in the week, turned in an outstanding start to lead the Sounds to a shutout victory over Oklahoma City on Saturday. The 24-year-old allowed just 3 hits over 6 shutout innings to earn his 1st Triple-A win, while LHP Jeremy Bleich tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Bobby Wahl pitched a perfect 9th to complete the four-hit shutout and notch his 5th save for Nashville. Center fielder Jake Smolinski slugged his 2nd home run for the Sounds to provide the team’s sole run in the win. In other news, Nashville RHPs Chris Bassitt and Carlos Ramirez were called up by Oakland, while the A’s returned RHP Josh Lucas to the Sounds, and RHP Kyle Friedrichs and LHP Jarret Martin were reassigned from the RockHounds to the Sounds on Saturday.
