Sportman had a pair of hits apiece for the Hounds. RHP Joel Seddon delivered his second straight solid start, allowing 2 runs over 5 2/3 frames to earn his 3rd win on Wednesday.

Nashville notched its third straight win, this one in a walk-off, on Wednesday. RHP Raul Alcantara threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, and LHP Dean Kiekhefer picked up the win despite allowing an unearned run in the top of the 10th. Right fielder Ramon Laureano had another good game, going 2 for 4 with a walk and a stolen base after homering in his season debut on Monday. Shortstop Jorge Mateo tripled and scored a run, while left fielder BJ Boyd doubled. First baseman Nick Martini singled in the tying run with no outs in the bottom of the 10th and, two outs later, catcher Josh Phegley singled in the winning run for the Sounds. In other news, the A’s recalled RHP Daniel Gossett and infielder Franklin Barreto on Wednesday, and infielder Melvin Mercedes was reassigned to the Sounds from Stockton.
