The Ports prevailed for the fourth time in the last five games to take sole possession of first place in the California League North Division on Saturday. RHP Logan Shore turned in his third straight solid start for Stockton, allowing 2 runs on just 4 hits while walking none and striking out 4 over 6 innings of work to earn his 2nd win on Saturday. Shore has now given up a total of 3 runs on 10 hits while walking just 1 and striking out 18 in 16 innings over his first 3 starts for Stockton. RHP Angel Duno tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up his 3rd save for the Ports. Center fielder Skye Bolt singled twice, walked twice, stole a pair of bases and drove in a run, while designated hitter Brallan Perez singled, doubled, drew a walk and scored twice. First baseman Luke Persico had 2 hits and drove in a pair, and catcher Jonah Heim had an RBI single to extend his league-best hitting streak to 19 games on Saturday.

The Sounds won their third straight go a game over .500 on Saturday. With the bases loaded, two outs and his team down by a run in the top of the 6th inning, catcher Beau Taylor lined a bases-clearing double down the left field line to drive in 3 runs and give the Sounds a lead they would never surrender on Saturday. Taylor also singled and scored in the Sounds’ three-run 8th. Shortstop Jorge Mateo singled in a pair of runs, drew a walk and stole a base, while second baseman Franklin Barreto singled twice and drove in a run, and first baseman Slade Heathcott and left fielder Nick Martini notched a pair of hits apiece for Nashville. Starter Eric Jokisch allowed 2 runs over 5 2/3 frames to earn his 1st win of the season for the Sounds.

The Snappers dropped their fourth straight on Saturday to finish their six-game homestand with a 2-4 record. RHP Wyatt Marks had shaky start for the Snappers, surrendering 5 runs in just 1 2/3 frames to suffer his 2nd loss on Saturday. First baseman Hunter Hargrove singled, doubled twice and drove in a run, while right fielder Jack Meggs, center fielder Mickey McDonald and left fielder Lazaro Armenteros had 3 hits apiece in the loss.
