First baseman Edwin Diaz delivered the decisive blow to help the Ports win their fifth straight and improve their league-best record to 17-9 on Tuesday. With the game tied 2-2, two outs and the bases empty in the bottom of the 6th inning, first baseman Edwin Diaz stepped to the plate and sent a ball over the left field wall to provide the winning run for the Ports. Diaz also doubled to lead off the 2nd but was left stranded. Right fielder Luis Barrera collected 3 hits, including a double, while third baseman Melvin Mercedes walked and doubled in a run, and shortstop Kevin Merrell and left fielder Dairon Blanco had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports. RHP Brian Howard turned in another solid start for Stockton, allowing just 1 run over 5 frames, and he left the game with a one-run lead. LHP Andrew Tomasovich gave up 1 run in 2 innings of relief but still picked up the win, while RHP Sam Sheehan struck out the side in order in the 8th, and RHP Boomer Biegalski pitched a scoreless 9th to secure the save for Stockton.

Third Baseman Sheldon Neuse

The Sounds lost for the fourth time in the last five games on Tuesday to see their record fall to one game below .500. RHP Kendall Graveman made his first start of the season for the Sounds, and he tossed 4 scoreless frames before surrendering a pair of runs in the 5th inning and another 4 runs in the 6th. On the night, Graveman gave up a total of 6 runs on 11 hits over 5 2/3 frames, and he exited on Tuesday with the game tied. RHP Simon Castro then allowed 4 runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief to suffer the loss for the Sounds. Third baseman Sheldon Neuse doubled in a pair of runs to give his team the lead in the 6th and then walked with the bases loaded to tie the game in the 7th. First baseman Slade Heathcott singled twice and drove in a run, while right fielder Anthony Garcia doubled in a run, and center fielder Dustin Fowler continued his hot hitting, collecting a pair of hits and a walk, stealing a base and scoring twice for the Sounds.

The RockHounds scored three runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to record their second straight comeback victory on Tuesday. RHP Ben Bracewell turned in an outstanding start, striking out 7 over 7 scoreless frames before putting a pair of runners on in the top of 8th. LHP Jarret Martin replaced Bracewell on the mound and allowed 2 runs to score. Third baseman Eli White drew a pair of walks in the game and singled in a run in the bottom of the 8th, while left fielder Brett Vertigan singled in the tying and winning runs with two outs in the bottom of the 8th for Midland. Martin picked up the win, and RHP Nolan Blackwood tossed a scoreless 9th to register his 2nd save for the RockHounds.

The Snappers lost their third straight to fall one game under .500 on Tuesday. Starter Bryce Conley surrendered 6 runs over 4 frames to suffer his 2nd loss for the Snappers, while catcher Skyler Weber doubled twice, drew a walk and drove in a run, and left fielder Logan Farrar belted his team-leading 3rd home run for Beloit in the loss.
