Stockton went down to defeat on Friday to suffer a three-game sweep in their best-of-five playoff series with Modesto. Center fielder Skye Bolt provided the Ports with both their runs on the night, singling in Stockton’s first run in the 5th inning and then slugging a solo shot in the 7th. First baseman Mikey White had 2 hits, including a double, while shortstop Eli White doubled, walked and scored a run for Stockton. Starter Evan Manarino had a rough outing, allowing 6 runs, 4 earned, in just 3 innings of work to suffer the loss as Stockton saw its season come to an end on Friday.

Second Baseman Max Schrock

The RockHounds were shut out on 8 hits on Friday to go down two games to one in their best-of-five playoff series with San Antonio. Second baseman Max Schrock and center fielder J.P. Sportman had a pair of hits apiece, but Sportman was picked off first base after singling to lead off the home half of the second inning, while third baseman Sheldon Neuse doubled for the Hounds’ only extra-base hit of the game. Starter Grant Holmes allowed 5 runs, 3 earned, over 4 1/3 frames to suffer the loss. Meanwhile, RHP Heath Fillmyer is set to take the mound in Saturday’s do-or-die Game #4 for Midland.
