The Ports exploded for 22 runs as they shut out Visalia on just 2 hits to move back into a three-way tie for first place in their division on Thursday. First baseman Seth Brown continued his red-hot second half, collecting his 18th double of the season and slugging his second grand slam in his last four games. The 25-year-old walked, scored twice and drove in 5 runs on the day to extend his league-leading RBI total to 104, and his 27th home run tied him for the league lead. Center fielder Skye Bolt had 5 hits, including a home run, and drove in 6 runs, while shortstop Mikey White homered, doubled, walked and drove in 4. Third baseman Branden Cogswell collected 4 hits, and second baseman Nate Mondou and right fielder Luis Barrera both had 3 hits and drove in a pair for the Ports. Starter Brandon Bailey was outstanding on Thursday, allowing just 1 hit while striking out 7 over 5 frames to earn his 2nd win for Stockton, while RHP Boomer Biegalski returned from the disabled to throw 1 scoreless inning in relief for the Ports. First baseman Chris Iriart also returned from the disabled list but was not in the lineup on Thursday, while shortstop Richie Martin and RHP Miguel Romero were both placed on the DL for Stockton.

LHP A.J. Puk was impressive in his final start of the regular season on Thursday. The 22-year-old tied a career high with 13 strikeouts while failing to issue a walk and allowing just 2 unearned runs over 6 innings of work. But he still ended up suffering the loss as the RockHounds were shut out on just 4 hits to drop their sixth straight. Catcher Sean Murphy, second baseman Max Schrock, right fielder Tyler Marincov and designated hitter Jermaine Curtis all singled in the loss.

The Snappers came up a run short to suffer their tenth loss in their last thirteen games on Thursday. Starter Kyle Twomey was solid, striking out 5 while failing to allow a walk over 5 frames, but he was charged with 3 unearned runs thanks to a fielding error by first baseman Miguel Mercedes and a passed ball by catcher Jason Goldstein. He exited with the game tied 3-3, but RHP Mitchell Jordan gave up 1 run in 3 innings of relief to take his 10th loss for the Snappers. Right fielder Luke Persico walked and doubled in a run in the loss.

Five Vermont pitchers combined to shut out Hudson Valley on just 2 hits on Thursday. Starter Parker Dunshee threw 3 shutout frames to extend his scoreless-innings streak to 38 1/3, while RHP Brian Howard was even better, pitching 3 perfect innings to earn his 2nd victory for Vermont. RHP Branden Kelliher tossed 2 scoreless frames in relief, while LHP Logan Salow got the first two outs in the bottom of the 9th, and RHP Jeferson Mejia nailed down the final out in the 9th to notch his 1st save for the Lake Monsters. Catcher Iolana Akau walked and singled in a run, while left fielder James Terrell doubled in a run to help lead Vermont to victory on Thursday.

Center fielder Austin Beck had 2 hits, including a double, while first baseman Alonzo Medina and second baseman Marcos Brito both doubled, and third baseman Jake Lumley and designated hitter Santis Sanchez each singled and drove in a run in the loss.
