Starter A.J. Puk turned in an impressive performance to help the RockHounds score their sixth win in their last seven games on Sunday. The 22-year-old allowed just 1 run while striking out 7 over 6 innings of work to earn his 2nd win for Midland, and he’s now recorded 42 strikeouts over his last 27 innings for the RockHounds. RHPs Joel Seddon, Sam Bragg and Kyle Finnegan each tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief. Right fielder J.P. Sportman doubled and hit a 2-run homer, while center fielder B.J. Boyd (.327) and second baseman Max Schrock (.323) collected 3 hits apiece to move into first and third place, respectively, in the Texas League batting race.

After being shut out on Saturday, the Sounds scored just one run on Sunday to lose their second straight to Iowa. First baseman Chris Carter slugged a solo shot in the 2nd inning to provide all the Sounds’ scoring in the loss. RHP Zach Neal had a shaky start, surrendering 7 runs over 5 frames to suffer his 8th loss for the Sounds. Meanwhile, Nashville outfielder Jaycob Brugman was placed on the disabled list on Sunday.

Stockton scored 15 runs to crush the Nuts on Sunday. First baseman Seth Brown had 3 hits, including his team-leading 22nd home run, and drove in 5 runs to give him a league-leading total of 88 on the season. Catcher Argenis Raga singled and socked his 6th home run for Stockton, while right fielder Skye Bolt ripped his 13th round-tripper. Shortstop Richie Martin singled twice, doubled, walked and scored 3 runs, and designated hitter Jake Smolinski singled, drew 3 walks and drove in 4 runs in his seventh rehab appearance for the Ports. Starter Brandon Bailey threw 3 scoreless frames, while RHP Miguel Romero allowed 1 unearned run in 3 innings of relief to earn his 3rd win for Stockton.

LHP Kyle Twomey had a shaky start on Sunday, surrendering 6 runs over 4 frames to suffer the loss as the Snappers fell for the eighth time in their last nine games. Third baseman Jesus Lopez had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while second baseman Josh Vidales singled twice, and first baseman Miguel Mercedes doubled in a run in the loss.

The Lake Monsters won in a 13-inning walk-off on Sunday. Center fielder Logan Farrar had a big night at the plate, collecting 4 hits, including a home run, while driving in a pair, and the 22-year-old has now gone 10 for 23 with 2 home runs and 7 RBIs over his last 5 games for Vermont. Designated hitter Jordan Devencenzi singled, doubled and drove in a run, while shortstop Jesus Lage singled and drove in 2 runs, including the winning run in the bottom of the 13th, and left fielder Anthony Churlin had a pair of doubles and scored the winning run for the Lake Monsters. Starter Oscar Tovar allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 6 innings of work, while LHP Jeferson Mejia pitched 3 perfect innings in relief, and RHP Wandisson Charles got the final three outs to earn his 2nd victory for Vermont.
