RHP Zach Neal turned in an outstanding start for the Sounds on Friday, allowing just 1 run over 7 innings of work to notch his 3rd win for Nashville. RHP Chris Bassitt threw a scoreless 8th, and RHP Lou Trivino pitched a perfect 9th to pick up his 1st save for the Sounds. Center fielder Yairo Munoz singled, homered and drove in a pair, while catcher Matt McBride doubled, walked and scored a run, and left fielder Kenny Wilson singled twice, stole a base and drove in a run for Nashville. Meanwhile, the A’s sent outfielders Mark Canha and Jaycob Brugman back to the Sounds and recalled outfielder Boog Powell and RHP Michael Brady on Friday.

RHP Heath Fillmyer had his second straight strong start for the RockHounds on Friday, allowing just 1 run over 6 innings of work to earn his 8th win, while RHP Carlos Navas tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to register his 4th save for Midland. Center fielder B.J. Boyd singled and homered, while second baseman Max Schrock singled twice and scored twice, and left fielder Tyler Ramirez singled, stole a base and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

Three home runs helped the Ports prevail in a see-saw affair on Friday. First baseman Sandber Pimentel homered in the 2nd inning to put the Ports on the board, while second baseman Mikey White homered in the 3rd to break a 1-1 tie and then singled and scored the tying run in the 5th on catcher Argenis Raga‘s 2-run shot, and third baseman Sheldon Neuse singled in the winning run in the 8th for Stockton. Starter Angel Duno allowed 3 runs over 6 innings of work and left the game with his team up by a run. RHP Armando Ruiz surrendered the tying run in the top of the 7th but still wound up picking up his 2nd win, and RHP Nolan Blackwood got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 14th save for Stockton.

Starter Matt Milburn turned in a solid start for the Snappers on Friday, allowing just 1 run over 5 frames to earn his 7th win, while RHP John Gorman tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to secure his 1st save for the Snappers. Second baseman Jesus Lopez and designated hitter Kyle Nowlin each had 3 hits, including a double, stole a base and drove in a run, while left fielder Josh Vidales singled in a run, and center fielder Mike Martin doubled, walked, stole a base and scored a run for the Snappers.

The Lake Monsters suffered an 11-inning walk-off loss on Friday. Designated hitter Greg Deichmann singled, walked, stole a base, hit a game-tying home run in the 7th inning and drove in 2 runs, while third baseman Will Toffey tripled and drew a pair of walks. Left fielder Payton Squier walked and singled in a run in the top of the 10th, and shortstop Kevin Merrell and center fielder Logan Farrar each singled twice and stole a base for Vermont. Starter Jesus Luzardo allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 3 innings of work in his Lake Monsters debut, while RHP Brian Howard threw 3 scoreless and hitless frames in relief, but RHP Bryce Conley surrendered the winning run in the bottom of the 11th to suffer his 2nd loss as State College won in a walk-off on Friday.

The AZL A’s won in 10 innings on Friday. Left fielder Lazaro Armenteros singled in a run in the 7th inning and came around to score the go-ahead run later in the same frame. He then doubled in another run in the 8th and also walked twice and stole a base in the game. Second baseman Marcos Brito singled, tripled and scored twice, while shortstop Yerdel Vargas singled and drove in a pair of runs. Right fielder Jeramiah McCray singled twice and drew a walk, and pinch-hitter Justin Jones singled in the winning run in the top of the 10th. Starter Richard Morban allowed 2 runs and struck out 6 over 3 innings of work. LHP Pat Krall gave up 2 runs, 1 earned, in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game but still wound up picking up the win, while RHP Slater Lee notched the final out in the bottom of the 10th to secure his 3rd save for the A’s.
