Left fielder Brett Siddall continued his torrid hitting in the second half to help the Ports prevail for the fourth time in their last five games on Tuesday. The 22-year-old collected 4 hits, including a home run and a pair of doubles, while driving in 4 runs, and he’s now slashing .388/.452/.687 for Stockton in the second half. Catcher Argenis Raga singled and slugged a 3-run homer, while center fielder Luis Barrera singled and belted a 2-run blast, and right fielder Seth Brown singled, doubled, stole a base and drove in a pair. Ports pitchers shut out the 66ers on just 5 hits on Tuesday. Starter Dalton Sawyer struck out 7 over 5 scoreless innings to earn his 2nd win for Stockton, while RHP Kyle Friedrichs allowed just 1 hit over 4 scoreless frames to complete the shutout and pick up his 1st save for the Ports. Meanwhile, Midland shortstop Richie Martin was reassigned to Stockton, while infielder Edwin Diaz was sent back to Beloit on Tuesday.

RHP Zach Neal had a shaky start for the Sounds on Tuesday, allowing 9 runs, 8 earned, over 5 frames to suffer his 7th loss. Second baseman Franklin Barreto had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while designated hitter Matt Olson slugged his 21st home run as the Sounds lost their third straight to Salt Lake on Friday.

RHP Casey Meisner turned in an impressive start to help the Hounds win their fourth straight on Tuesday. The 22-year-old allowed just 3 hits over 6 shutout innings to earn his 3rd win for Midland. Center fielder B.J. Boyd had 3 hits and a walk and drove in a run, while second baseman Max Schrock singled, doubled and drove in 3, and shortstop Jorge Mateo, recently acquired from the Yankees in the Sonny Gray deal, went 1 for 5 with an RBI triple and scored twice while hitting in the leadoff spot in his RockHounds debut. And with Mateo’s arrival, Midland shortstop Richie Martin was reassigned to Stockton on Tuesday.

RHP Xavier Altamirano had a strong start for Beloit, allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, over 6 innings of work, but he still ended up suffering the loss as the Snappers’ five-game winning streak was snapped on Tuesday. Catcher Jason Goldstein had a pair of hits and a walk, while first baseman Miguel Mercedes walked and doubled in a run, and second baseman Josh Vidales tripled in a run in the loss. Meanwhile, infielder Edwin Diaz was reassigned to the Snappers from Stockton on Tuesday.

The Lake Monsters suffered their second straight shutout loss on Tuesday. Designated hitter Logan Farrar had 2 of his team’s 6 hits, while shortstop Jesus Lage doubled for Vermont’s only extra-base hit. Third baseman Will Toffey singled, drew a pair of walks and stole a base, and first baseman Hunter Hargrove, who was promoted from the AZL A’s, went 0 for 4 with a strikeout in his Vermont debut. Starter Brian Howard allowed 3 runs over 3 innings of work to suffer the loss for the Lake Monsters.

The AZL A’s mounted a late comeback to tie the game, but ended up suffering a walk-off loss in the bottom of the 9th on Tuesday. Starter Richard Jose Morban allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 4 1/3 frames, while LHP Cody Puckett was charged with 1 unearned run in 1 2/3 innings of relief for the A’s. But left fielder Lazaro Armenteros followed up his RBI single in the 1st inning with his 4th home run of the year, a 3-run homer in the 8th to give him 4 RBIs on the night and bring his team back within a run. A walk, a single and a ground out pushed home the tying run for the A’s in the top of the 9th, but a passed ball by catcher Jesus Monserratt allowed the winning run to score in the bottom of the 9th off LHP Pat Krall who took the loss for the A’s on Tuesday.
