RHP Grant Holmes turned in an outstanding start for the RockHounds, allowing 1 run on just 3 hits over 7 innings of work to earn his 6th win on Friday. RHPs Sam Bragg and Tyler Sturdevant each tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief for the Hounds. Right fielder J.P. Sportman collected 3 hits and drove in a run, while second baseman Max Schrock singled twice and drove in 3. Designated hitter Jermaine Curtis had 2 hits and a walk and scored twice, and catcher Sean Murphy singled, walked twice and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds.

The Sounds suffered a walk-off loss in Omaha on Friday. Starter Jesse Hahn was charged with 2 unearned runs over 4 1/3 innings of work for Nashville. Catcher Beau Taylor doubled in a run in the 2nd inning, while second baseman Franklin Barreto hit his 9th home run in the 3rd, and first baseman Matt Olson doubled in the go-ahead run in the 5th. But in the bottom of the 9th, RHP Simon Castro gave up a pair of singles before making a throwing error on a sacrifice bunt to allow the tying and winning runs to come around to score as Omaha won in a walk-off on Friday.

RHP Angel Duno turned in a strong start for Stockton on Friday, throwing 5 scoreless frames before exiting the game with a 3-run lead. But LHP Evan Manarino surrendered 4 runs in 4 innings of relief to suffer the loss as Stockton fell for the fifth time in its last six games. Left fielder Luis Barrera singled, walked, stole a base and hit a 2-run homer, while center fielder Skye Bolt doubled, walked, stole a base and scored a run, and second baseman Nate Mondou had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the Ports.

First baseman Miguel Mercedes hit his team-leading 13th home run, while shortstop Eric Marinez singled twice, walked twice and scored a run in the loss.

The Lake Monsters staged a late-inning comeback to notch their ninth win in their last eleven games on Friday. Catcher Jarrett Costa clubbed a key 2-run homer in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game, and the winning run came in to score later in the same inning thanks to a throwing error. Shortstop Ryan Gridley doubled in another run in the 8th, while center fielder James Terrell homered in the 4th, and right fielder Anthony Churlin singled twice, drew a walk and drove in a run for the Lake Monsters. Starter Bryce Conley gave up 3 runs in just 1 1/3 innings of work, while RHP Argenis Blanco allowed 3 runs, just 1 earned, over 4 2/3 frames, and RHP Marc Berube threw 3 scoreless innings to earn his 2nd victory for Vermont.

17-year-old Puerto Rican RHP Osvaldo Berrios made the start and allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, in just 1 2/3 innings of work to suffer the loss on Friday. This year’s 28th-round draft pick for the A’s, LHP Pat Krall, pitched 2 perfect innings in relief for the A’s. 25th-round first baseman Hunter Hargrove doubled with the bases loaded to drive in 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th, while 18th-round right fielder Mickey McDonald had a pair of hits and a walk, and 3rd-round shortstop Nick Allen singled twice, scored twice and stole a base in the loss.
