TEXAS LEAGUE  (Double-A)

Midland RockHounds  6

San Antonio Missions    0

WP – Fillmyer 4-2 / 3.24

Prospect Of The Game:

Pitcher Heath Fillmyer

(7 1/3 IP / 3 H / 0 ER / 2 BB / 7 K / Win)

RHP Heath Fillmyer turned in his best start of the season to help the RockHounds snap their four-game losing streak on Friday. The 5th-round draft pick for the A’s in 2014 was outstanding, allowing just 3 hits while striking out 7 over 7 1/3 shutout innings to earn his 4th win for Midland. RHP Sam Bragg gave up 1 hit in 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief to complete the 4-hit shutout for the Hounds. Designated hitter Viosergy Rosa doubled in a pair of runs, while right fielder J.P. Sportman singled in a run, walked and stole a base, and Yairo Munoz, making his first appearance in center field for Midland, singled, doubled and scored a run for the RockHounds. And considering the lack of center field options in the A’s system, it wouldn’t be surprising if this isn’t the last time we see Munoz in center. In other news, Midland outfielder Tyler Marincov successfully underwent surgery on his broken left hand on Friday and he’s expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks. RockHounds RHP Ben Bracewell was reassigned to the Sounds on Friday and is scheduled to make his Triple-A debut for Nashville on Saturday, while LHP A.J. Puk is set to make his second start for Midland on Saturday.
