Filling in for injured starter James Naile, RHP Joel Seddon turned in a strong start for the RockHounds on Friday. Making just his third start this season, Seddon allowed only 1 run over 7 innings of work to earn his 3rd win, while RHP Lou Trivino picked up the save despite giving up 1 run in 2 innings of relief for the RockHounds. Third baseman Jermaine Curtis had 3 hits drove in the go-ahead in the 8th inning, while shortstop Yairo Munoz and left fielder Kenny Wilson both doubled, and designated hitter Andy Paz singled in a run to help the RockHounds salvage a split in their four-game series with first-place San Antonio.

The Sounds fell in an extra-innings walk-off on Friday. RHP Paul Blackburn turned in another solid start for the Sounds, allowing just 1 run over 6 innings of work, but he left the game with his team down by a run. First baseman Matt Olson slugged his 15th home run, a solo shot, with two outs in the top of the 8th to tie the game. RHP Tucker Healy tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief, while RHP Jake Sanchez pitched 2 perfect frames, but RHP Simon Castro surrendered the winning run in the bottom of the 10th to suffer the loss as Memphis won in a walk-off. Olson also singled and walked in the game, while second baseman Joey Wendle and designated hitter Ryan Lavarnway both doubled in the loss. And with outfielder Jaycob Brugman joining the A’s on Friday, Mark Canha was sent back to the Sounds.

Stockton suffered a walk-off loss at the hands of Modesto on Friday. Starter A.J. Puk struggled, allowing 5 runs, 4 earned, over 3 innings of work while throwing a total of 70 pitches, and he left the game with the Ports down by a pair of runs. Right fielder Tyler Ramirez singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored twice, while shortstop Eli White had 3 hits, including a double. Catcher Sean Murphy singled twice and drove in a run, and left fielder James Harris doubled in a run and scored the tying run in the top of the 5th for Stockton. RHP Armando Ruiz tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, while LHP Cody Stull contributed 1 2/3 scoreless frames. But a dropped fly ball by center fielder Skye Bolt allowed the leadoff hitter in the bottom of the 9th to reach second base, and he then came around to score on a single off LHP Andrew Tomasovich, who was charged with the unearned run to suffer the loss as Modesto won in a walk-off on Friday.

The Snappers fell for the third time in their last four games to fall back to .500 on Friday. Starter Matt Milburn surrendered 4 runs over 6 innings to suffer his 5th loss for the Snappers. First baseman Luke Persico collected 3 hits, drove in a run and stole a base, while center fielder Luis Barrera tripled, and second baseman Nate Mondou and left fielder J.C. Rodriguez both doubled for Beloit in the loss.
