With two outs, two men on and his team down by two runs in the top of the 3rd inning on Thursday, designated hitter Viosergy Rosa stepped to the plate and slugged a 3-run homer to put the Hounds on top. Left fielder J.P. Sportman then followed with a 3-run homer of his own in the 4th inning to extend the lead and help the Hounds win on Thursday. Starter Heath Fillmyer gave up 3 runs in 3 innings of work, while RHP Joel Seddon picked up the win after allowing 2 runs in 4 innings of relief, and RHP Jake Sanchez pitched a perfect 8th and 9th to notch his 2nd save for Midland on Thursday.

After looking solid in relief in his last outing, RHP Zach Neal was a little shaky in his first start for the Sounds this season, allowing 4 runs over 4 2/3 frames to suffer the loss on Thursday. And after being shut out on 5 hits on Wednesday, former major leaguer Justin Masterson and a trio of relievers, including former Sounds LHP Patrick Schuster, held Nashville to just 1 run on 7 hits on Thursday night. Center fielder Kenny Wilson and designated hitter Jaff Decker had a pair of hits apiece, while left fielder Andrew Lambo doubled for Nashville’s only extra-base hit of the game, and second baseman Franklin Barreto singled in the Sounds’ only run in the loss.

Five errors helped Stockton suffer the loss in the team’s first road game of the season against San Jose on Thursday. Right fielder Brett Siddall, third baseman Mikey White and pitcher Daulton Jefferies were all charged with errors, while shortstop Eli White made a pair of throwing errors in the game. Starter Evan Manarino allowed 2 runs, 1 earned, over 4 innings of work to take the loss, while Jefferies was charged with 6 runs, just 2 of them earned, in 3 innings of relief for Stockton. Center fielder Skye Bolt singled, walked and doubled in a run in the 7th, while Mikey White had two singles and a walk, stole a base and drove in the tying run in the 4th, and first baseman Seth Brown had a pair of hits for the Ports.

RHP Matt Milburn had a bit of a rocky outing in his first start for the Snappers, allowing 4 runs in just 2 1/3 innings to suffer the loss, while his tandem-starting mate, RHP Brandon Bailey, gave up 3 runs in 3 innings of relief as the Snappers lost their fifth straight on Thursday. Shortstop Edwin Diaz slugged his 2nd home run of the season, a solo shot in the 7th, while right fielder JaVon Shelby had a pair of singles and drove in a run in the loss.
