Another day, another outstanding performance by a Ports pitcher! On Wednesday, it was last year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Logan Shore, who allowed just 2 hits while walking none and striking out 6 in 4 shutout innings of relief to earn his 1st professional save. And Shore has now allowed just 1 run and 1 walk while striking out 11 over his first 8 innings this season. His tandem-pitching partner, RHP Angel Duno, started the game and allowed 2 runs in 4 innings of work, while RHP Carlos Navas pitched a perfect 5th to pick up the win for the Ports. Right fielder Seth Brown had 2 hits and singled in a pair of runs in the 1st, including the tying run. Center fielder Skye Bolt singled in what would prove to be the winning run later in the same inning and also tripled and scored a run in the 4th to help the Ports win for the fourth time in their last five games.

Starter Daniel Gossett surrendered 4 runs, 3 earned, in the 1st inning but struck out 8 batters over 4 innings of work and ended up suffering his 1st loss of the season for the Sounds.
