First baseman Chris Iriart had a big night at the plate for the Ports on Sunday. The 21-year-old slugger smashed a game-tying home run to lead off the bottom of the 8th inning, and then socked a 2-run shot with two outs in the bottom of the 9th to lead Stockton to a walk-off win on Sunday. Center fielder Justin Higley tripled, doubled and scored Stockton’s first run in the 7th. Starter Brett Graves allowed 2 runs over 4 innings of work, while RHP Joey Wagman threw 3 scoreless frames in relief, and RHP Nick Highberger tossed a scoreless 8th and 9th to notch his 1st win for the Ports. Meanwhile, Stockton RHP Kyle Friedrichs was reassigned to the RockHounds on Sunday.

RHP Daniel Gossett delivered his second straight outstanding start for the Sounds on Sunday, allowing just 1 run over 6 2/3 innings of work, and he left the game with a 2-run lead. But RHP Eduard Santos was charged with 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to take the loss. Shortstop Franklin Barreto slugged his 1st home run for the Sounds in the 6th, while left fielder Rangel Ravelo ripped a 2-run homer for Nashville in the loss.

Shortstop Richie Martin collected 3 hits, stole a base and drove in a pair of runs to help the RockHounds win the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader. Left fielder Danny Oh singled, doubled and drove in a run, while third baseman Yairo Munoz walked, stole a base and singled in a run, and second baseman Max Schrock had a pair of hits for the Hounds. RHP James Naile turned in a solid start, allowing 2 runs over 5 innings of work to earn his 1st win for Midland, while RHP Kyle Finnegan picked up his 6th save despite giving up 2 runs, just 1 earned, in 2 innings of relief for the RockHounds. Meanwhile, Stockton RHP Kyle Friedrichs was reassigned to the RockHounds on Sunday.

With two outs, a man on and the game tied in the top of the 8th inning, catcher Andy Paz singled in the winning run to help the RockHounds sweep Sunday’s doubleheader. Paz also walked and scored in the top of the 1st, while center fielder J.P. Sportman double and scored, and designated hitter Joe Bennie singled in a run for the RockHounds. RHP Andres Avila made his first start of the season and allowed just 1 run over 3 innings of work, while RHP Trey Cochran-Gill threw 3 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Sam Bragg tossed 2 scoreless frames to earn his 4th win for Midland.

Starter Boomer Biegalski was a little shaky for the Snappers on Sunday, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks over 5 1/3 innings to suffer his 8th loss. Shortstop Trace Loehr tripled and scored the Snappers’ first run in the 6th inning, while left fielder Robert Martinez singled and drew a pair of walks, and center fielder Skye Bolt and third baseman Jesus Lopez both doubled in runs for Beloit.

Starter Dakota Chalmers allowed 3 runs over 5 innings of work to suffer his 4th loss for the Lake Monsters on Sunday. Third baseman Luke Persico belted his 3rd home run in the bottom of the 6th inning, while first baseman Miguel Mercedes smacked his 12th home run in the 9th to tie the team’s single-season home run record with one game left on the schedule.
