After going 0 for 16 over his last 6 games, center fielder Skye Bolt broke out in a big way for Beloit on Saturday, belting a pair of home runs to help the Snappers win their fourth straight. Both were solo shots, with the first coming in the 4th inning to give his team a 1-run advantage and the second coming in the 6th to add to the lead. Right fielder Brett Siddall slugged a 2-run homer, while third baseman Trace Loehr had 4 hits, including a double, stole a base and scored twice, and second baseman Trent Gilbert singled, doubled and drove in a run for Beloit. After a couple of rough starts, RHP Angel Duno was outstanding on Saturday, allowing just 1 run while striking out 5 over 5 innings of work to earn his 7th win, while RHP Nolan Blackwood got the final four outs to post his 1st save for the Snappers.

After clinching the division title on Friday, the Sounds came back to win again on Saturday. LHP Dillon Overton delivered an impressive start, allowing just 1 run over 6 innings of work to earn his 13th win, which is the second most in the league. Rehabbing LHP Sean Doolittle tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief, while RHP Carlos Navas got the final six outs to earn his 1st save for the Sounds. First baseman Matt Olson collected 3 hits, including a pair of doubles, while second baseman Joey Wendle singled, doubled and drove in a pair, and center fielder B.J. Boyd singled in the 3rd and the 5th to notch his first 2 hits for Nashville.

Designated hitter Beau Taylor had 3 hits, including a 3-run homer in the 5th inning to give the Hounds the lead, and he ended up driving in 4 of Midland’s 5 runs on the day. Shortstop Franklin Barreto had a pair of doubles, drove in a run and scored twice in the win. Thanks to a pair of errors in the 2nd inning, starter Joel Seddon allowed 3 runs, all unearned, over 6 innings of work and he wound up earning his 9th win, while RHP Sam Bragg tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Kyle Finnegan got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 5th save for the RockHounds.

First baseman Chris Iriart clubbed a 3-run homer in the top of the 5th inning to break a 2-2 tie and give Stockton a 3-run lead on Saturday. Iriart also singled and walked in the game, while catcher Argenis Raga ripped a 3-run homer in the 9th. Center fielder Seth Brown slugged a solo shot in the 3rd, and right fielder Justin Higley singled, tripled, drove in a run and scored twice in the win. RHP Grant Holmes had his best start for Stockon, allowing 2 runs while striking out 6 over 5 innings of work to earn the win, while RHP Joey Wagman picked up his 2nd save for the Ports despite allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, in 2 innings of relief on Saturday.

21-year-old Venezuelan LHP Ivan Andueza had a rough start for Vermont on Saturday, allowing 5 runs over 4 innings of work to suffer his 3rd loss for the Lake Monsters. Right fielder Tyler Ramirez singled, tripled, walked and scored twice, while third baseman JaVon Shelby doubled in a run in the loss.

RHP Henderson Alvarez allowed 1 hit and struck out 1 in 1 scoreless inning of work in his first appearance since being sidelined with shoulder soreness a little more than two months ago. Rehabbing RHP Dustin Driver followed with 3 scoreless innings in relief, but RHP Branden Kelliher surrendered 4 runs in 1 2/3 frames to take the loss. Right fielder Cole Gruber doubled, walked twice and stole 3 bases to tie him for the league lead with 26, while second baseman Josh Vidales walked and doubled in a run, and third baseman Casey Thomas had a pair of hits in the loss.
