Last year’s 14th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Boomer Biegalski, turned in an outstanding start for the Snappers, allowing just 3 hits while striking out 5 over 6 shutout innings to earn his 7th win on Sunday. LHP Andrew Tomasovich got the final out in the 9th to notch his 1st save for the Snappers. First baseman Chris Iriart singled in a run in the bottom of the 1st to put Beloit on the board, while designated hitter Brett Siddall homered in the 4th, and left fielder Luis Barrera doubled and scored in the 1st and tripled in a run in the 7th for the Snappers.

First baseman Matt Olson hit his 13th home run in the bottom of the 2nd inning to tie the game, while shortstop Arismendy Alcantara singled and scored in the 3rd and doubled in a run in the 7th, and Renato Nunez, making his first career start in left field, had a pair of hits in the loss.

RHP Heath Bowers gave up 3 runs, just 1 earned, in 3 1/3 innings of relief to suffer his 6th loss for the Lake Monsters. Vermont was shut out on just 1 hit in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader, with designated hitter Eli White collecting the sole single for his team in the loss.

Puk’s college teammate at Florida, RHP Logan Shore, looked strong in his third start for the Lake Monsters on Sunday, allowing 2 hits while walking none and striking out 4 over 3 innings of work, and he left with the game a scoreless tie. 21-year-old Venezuelan LHP Ivan Andueza gave up 1 run in 3 innings of relief. Right fielder Steven Pallares scored the tying run on a passed ball in the 6th inning, and Pallares then singled in the winning run in the 7th to lead Vermont to victory in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader.

This year’s supplemental 1st-round pick for the A’s, RHP Daulton Jefferies, was solid in his second start for the AZL A’s, striking out the first four batters he faced and failing to allow a base runner over 2 innings of work on Sunday. But 18-year-old Venezuelan RHP Oscar Tovar gave up 5 runs in 3 1/3 innings of relief to suffer his 2nd loss for the A’s. Center fielder James Terrell tripled in his team’s only 2 runs in the loss.
