First baseman Miguel Mercedes walked and scored Vermont’s first run in the 2nd inning and then notched his 9th home run in the 9th inning to provide his team’s only other run of the game and tie him for the league’s home run lead as well. In other news, Mercedes, shortstop Eli White, second baseman Nate Mondou and RHP Xavier Altamirano were all chosen to represent Vermont in next week’s New York-Penn League All-Star Game.
