Chapman is currently riding an eight-game hitting streak, during which he’s batting .406, and his 26 home runs, 75 RBIs and .507 slugging percentage all lead the Texas League. Catcher Beau Taylor, first baseman Josh Rodriguez and center fielder J.P. Sportman had a pair of hits apiece for the Hounds. Starter Corey Walter allowed 2 runs over 4 innings of work, while RHP Ben Bracewell was impressive in relief, throwing 5 shutout innings to earn his 7th win on Saturday.

(5 IP / 5 H / 2 ER / 0 BB / 3 K / Win)

The 23-year-old threw 4 shutout innings before allowing 2 runs in the 5th inning and ended up striking out 3 without allowing a walk over 5 frames to notch his 5th win for Nashville in a game that ended in the 6th inning due to rain. RHP Eduard Santos got the final out to pick up his 5th save for the Sounds. First baseman Rangel Ravelo had a pair of doubles and drove in a run, while left fielder Colin Walsh also doubled twice and scored twice, and right fielder Matt Olson doubled in a pair as the Sounds won their third straight. And with LHP Dillon Overton optioned back to Nashville on Saturday, LHP Patrick Schuster was recalled by the A’s.

But RHP Nolan Blackwood surrendered 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to suffer his 2nd loss as the Snappers dropped their fourth straight on Saturday. LP – Damron 0-2 / 2.70

HR – Rodriguez (2)

Prospect Of The Game:

(6 IP / 2 H / 0 ER / 2 BB / 3 K)

After surrendering 8 runs in his last outing, 19-year-old RHP Dakota Chalmers delivered an impressive start for the Lake Monsters on Saturday, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks over 6 shutout innings, but he left with the game a scoreless tie. This year’s 6th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Brandon Bailey, followed with 3 1/3 scoreless frames in relief, but a pair of errors and a passed ball helped let 3 runs score, 1 earned, off LHP Ty Damron in the top of the 11th inning, who suffered his 2nd loss for the Lake Monsters.
