RHP Raul Alcantara turned in his third straight outstanding start for the Sounds on Tuesday, allowing just 1 earned run while striking out 6 over 6 2/3 innings to earn his 2nd win for Nashville. It was the first earned run the 23-year-old has allowed in his three starts since joining the Sounds, and he’s failed to issue a single walk in any of those outings. Third baseman Colin Walsh singled, walked and drove in 2 runs, while catcher Matt McBride and shortstop Chad Pinder had a pair of hits apiece to help the Sounds win their fourth straight on Tuesday. And with Josh Reddick dealt to the Dodgers on Monday, Tyler Ladendorf was recalled by Oakland, while the A’s activated RHP Andrew Triggs from the disabled list and optioned RHP J.B. Wendelken back to Nashville. Meanwhile, RHP Jharel Cotton, the current Pacific Coast League strikeout leader who was acquired from the Dodgers, is scheduled to make his debut for the Sounds on Thursday.

RHP Daniel Gossett allowed just 1 earned run in his fifth straight start for Midland on Tuesday. The A’s 2nd-round draft pick in 2014 gave up just 2 hits over 6 innings of work to earn his 3rd win for the RockHounds. Catcher Beau Taylor had 2 doubles and a walk and drove in a pair of runs, while third baseman Matt Chapman singled, doubled and stole a base, and shortstop Yairo Munoz tripled and scored a run to help the RockHounds win their fourth straight on Tuesday.

Starter James Naile allowed 2 runs over 5 1/3 innings of work and left with the game a 2-2 tie on Tuesday. RHP Corey Miller tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, but RHP Carlos Navas gave up the winning run in the top of the 9th inning to suffer his 6th loss for Stockton. Left fielder B.J. Boyd stole a base and collected a pair of hits for the Ports. RHP Grant Holmes, the former 1st-round draft pick acquired from the Dodgers, was officially added to Stockton’s roster on Tuesday, while RHP Michael Murray was sent back to the Snappers, and Beloit LHP Evan Manarino was promoted to the Ports.

Right fielder Brett Siddall slugged a 2-run homer, while first baseman Ryan Howell had 2 hits and a walk and drove in a run, and second baseman Trent Gilbert singled, doubled and drove in a pair for the Snappers.

Starter Xavier Altamirano allowed 4 runs over 7 innings of work to suffer his 1st loss for the Lake Monsters on Tuesday. Third baseman Luke Persico slugged his 1st home run to provide Vermont’s sole run in the loss. Meanwhile, Vermont shortstop Eli White, who was this year’s 11th-round draft pick for the A’s, was named the New York-Penn League’s Player of the Week after going 9 for 27 with 3 doubles and 2 home runs for the Lake Monsters last week.
