RHP Daniel Gossett allowed just 1 earned run for the second straight start but still ended up suffering his 4th loss for Midland on Monday. The 23-year-old also allowed 1 unearned run over his 6 1/3 innings of work and now has a 3.14 ERA in 9 Texas League starts. RHP Ben Bracewell gave up 1 run in 1 2/3 innings of relief for the RockHounds. Left fielder Brett Vertigan had 2 hits and drove in a run, while catcher Andy Paz had a pair of singles as well as a pair of errors, and center fielder J.P. Sportman doubled and drew a pair of walks in the loss.

Starter Kyle Friedrichs allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, over 6 innings of work to suffer just his 2nd loss for Stockton. RHP Casey Meisner is scheduled to return to Stockton’s starting rotation on Tuesday, and he and LHP Zack Erwin are set to pitch in tandem for the remainder of the season.

Designated hitter Skye Bolt singled and walked, while first baseman Chris Iriart singled in a run, and second baseman Trent Gilbert singled and scored the Snappers’ sole run in the loss.

RHP Heath Bowers endured a rough start on Monday, allowing 9 runs, 5 earned, in just 1 1/3 innings of work to take the loss for the Lake Monsters.
