With one out, a man on first and the game tied in the bottom of the 12th inning, right fielder Tyler Marincov doubled to right field to bring home the winning run as the RockHounds won in a walk-off on Sunday. Marincov also singled and stole a base to get into scoring position in the 10th but was left stranded, and he’s now hitting .407 with 10 RBIs over his last 8 games for Midland. Shortstop Wade Kirkland singled, doubled and scored a run, while designated hitter Danny Oh had 2 hits and drove in the tying run in the bottom of the 6th, and catcher Beau Taylor doubled, walked twice and scored a run for the RockHounds. Starter Joel Seddon allowed 4 runs over 7 innings of work and left with the game a 4-4 tie, while RHP Sam Bragg tossed 3 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Jake Sanchez pitched 2 perfect frames in the 11th and 12th to pick up his 3rd win for Midland.

RHP Jesse Hahn had his second straight shaky start for the Sounds, allowing 5 runs over 5 innings of work to suffer his 3rd loss in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader. RHP Eduard Santos tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief. Right fielder Matt Olson slugged his 7th home run in the 7th inning, while catcher Matt McBride singled and doubled, and second baseman Joey Wendle had a pair of singles in the loss. Center fielder Jaycob Brugman left the game after getting hit in the right arm with a pitch in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Meanwhile, RHP Andrew Triggs was optioned back to Nashville, while catcher Bryan Anderson was activated off the disabled list, and Andrew Lambo and Colin Walsh were both placed on the DL on Sunday. Walsh suffered a hamstring injury in Friday’s game while the nature of Lambo’s injury was unknown.

RHP Angel Castro turned in a solid start for the Sounds, allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, over 6 innings of work, but still ended up suffering his 4th loss in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader as the Sounds were swept in the twinbill. RHP Ryan Brasier tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief. Catcher Bruce Maxwell singled and doubled, while center fielder Arismendy Alcantara singled in the Sounds’ only run in the 2nd inning, and left fielder Tyler Ladendorf singled and scored. Ladendorf started both games of the doubleheader in left field and went 1 for 5 with a walk on the day in his return to Nashville.

RHP Heath Fillmyer had another solid start for Stockton on Sunday, allowing just 1 run over 6 innings of work to earn his 4th win for the Ports. RHP Casey Meisner struck out 4 in 2 scoreless innings of relief, while RHP Lou Trvino got the final three outs in the 9th. Shortstop Richie Martin collected 4 hits, while left fielder Joe Bennie belted a 2-run homer, and designated hitter James Harris singled, doubled, walked and drove in a pair in the Ports’ final game of the first half before the California League All-Star break begins on Monday. Stockton finished the first half with a 27-43 record.

Starter Dustin Hurlbutt allowed 3 runs over 4 innings of work in his second start for the Snappers on Sunday. LHP Victor Veliz tossed 3 scoreless innings in his Beloit debut, but RHP Cody Kurz was charged with 3 runs in relief to take the loss. First baseman Ryan Howell tripled in the tying run in the 5th inning and then homered to tie the game again in the 8th. Center fielder Justin Higley collected 3 hits, while left fielder Jean Carlo Rodriguez contributed a pair of doubles and scored twice, and second baseman Trent Gilbert had 2 hits and drove in a pair in the Snappers final game of the first half before the Midwest League All-Star break begins on Monday. Beloit finished the first half with a 32-37 record.

The Lake Monsters lost their third straight in 13 innings on Sunday. RHP Brendan Butler, last year’s 30th-round draft pick for the A’s, threw 7 shutout innings for Vermont on Sunday, allowing 6 hits while walking none. LHP Tyler Painton followed with 2 2/3 scoreless frames of his own before 20-year-old LHP Jorge Martinez gave up a 3-run homer in the top of the 13th to take the loss. Miguel Mercedes tripled in the only run for the Lake Monsters in the bottom of the 13th.
