After suffering a disastrous debut for Stockton, RHP Kyle Friedrichs turned in his third straight quality start on Thursday, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits while walking none and striking out 5 over 7 innings of work to earn his his 2nd win for the Ports. And Friedrichs has now struck out 23 while failing to allow a walk in 19 innings over his last 3 starts for Stockton. LHP Cody Stull tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief, while RHP Carlos Navas picked up the save despite allowing 1 run in the bottom of the 9th. First baseman Sander Pimentel homered for the second straight night, slugging a 2-run shot in the top of the 8th, while left fielder James Harris doubled in the go-ahead run in the 8th, and center fielder B.J. Boyd singled, doubled and drove in the first run of the game for the Ports. Meanwhile, Stockton LHP Victor Veliz was reassigned to the Snappers on Thursday.

Third baseman Ryon Healy had a pair of hits, including his 5th home run for the Sounds and his 13th on the season, which is more than anyone in the A’s minor league system except for Midland’s Matt Chapman. Designated hitter Chad Pinder homered for the third straight day, while catcher Bruce Maxwell had a pair of hits for the Sounds. Starter Chris Jensen allowed 4 runs over 6 innings of work to take the loss in his Triple-A debut, while RHP Liam Hendriks gave up 1 run in 2 innings of relief in his third rehab appearance for the Sounds.

RHP James Naile allowed 4 runs over 6 innings of work to suffer the loss in his first start for the RockHounds on Thursday. Center fielder Brett Vertigan collected 3 hits, while left fielder J.P. Sportman doubled, walked and swiped a pair of bases. Third baseman Matt Chapman singled and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, and shortstop Franklin Barreto, designated hitter Beau Taylor and right fielder Tyler Marincov had a pair of hits apiece in the loss.

The Snappers were shut out on just 3 hits on Thursday. Catcher Miguel Guzman, second baseman Trace Loehr and center fielder Mike Martin all singled for Beloit. Starter Boomer Biegalski allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 6 innings of work to suffer his 3rd loss. Meanwhile, LHP Victor Veliz was reassigned from Stockton to the Snappers on Thursday.
